Ryan C. Tuck is the new online producer in charge of community interaction for the Star-News. His main task will be to manage content for brunswickvoice.com, mainly through the recruitment of user-generated content. A new resident of Brunswick County, Tuck will talk on his blog about being a new resident as this county undergoes a series of changes. Our friends at the Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce remind us of a few Christmas tree lighting ceremonies today, plus a parade in Shallotte tomorrow. Leland's is next week. Yep, tis the season already ... If you know of more events, houses with cool lights or anything else to enjoy this holiday, submit a post and let your community know. John McCain coming to North Myrtle Beach

Sen. John McCain, fresh off last night's YouTube/CNN debate, will be in north Myrtle Beach tomorrow morning. We will have coverage, as this is a big deal for a lot of residents of this area. I hear constantly from our neighbors in Calabash and Carolina Shores, who want MORE coverage of Myrtle Beach happenings. While this is a further-down-the-road goal, we strive to cover issues of import to this whole region, of which Myrtle (especially Little River and the northern section) are a big part.
